Golf and Fitness

When it comes to golf, it’s a mixed bag. I spend a lot of time saying “there’s a little something for everyone,” but golf is an exception to this rule. It can be a therapeutic sport, because of its slow paced and tranquil nature, but it also be a nail biting competition for you or for spectators. It’s a great way to unwind on weekends. However, to onlookers, it can e incredibly boring. Because it is quiet and slow paced, it’s not always great watching material. However, golf is a storied sport, to say the least, and has more than earned its spot at the table, so to speak. However, there is perhaps an aspect of this sport you’ve not yet considered, and that’s its ability to kick start your fitness journey. learn more details at http://www.bronsongolf.com/

You may think I’m joking, but here me out. Golfing involves quick, short plays bookended by travel time. For one reason or another, be it keeping a good pace for televised events or simple laziness, most of us take the golf cart from hole to hole, and for good reason. It’s a long walk, but that’s actually great exercise we’re missing out on. So, next time you go golfing, please don’t take the cart from hole to hole. Hoof it and make some progress toward fitness.

Now that you’ve taken a small step, in the form of several steps over long distances, you’re ready to add to your new fitness regimen in more traditional ways. The first among these is, of course, exercise. Where exercise is concerned, the primary problem is motivation, in my experience. “Not wanting it enough,” which I find to be an apt phrase despite being criminally over simplified. When you find a workout routine that works for you, which is work enough on its own, you’re going to need to stick with it to see results, and this is where we lose people. Working out is, after all, work, and so you’ve got to be ready for that.

Furthermore, it’s the right kind of work to really wipe you out, despite not lasting all that long. Certainly not as long as a work shift. So, I can see why someone might not be able to keep it up. However, there are a few ways around this. First of all, I would recommend a membership with 24 Hour Fitness. A gym membership provides good framework for your workout by providing machines that give you an array of specific workout techniques. However, the true benefit of a gym membership is access to professional trainers who can help you fine tune your regimen and give you encouragement.
